Over 73% of the world's poorest populations reside in rural areas. Several of them greatly depend on agriculture to survive. Livestock is also a source of income for some ethnic groups in West Africa such as the Fulanis (Peul) and the Sereres. Peuls and Sereres inhabit Ndianda, a small village in Senegal where poverty is a reality. When you visit Ndianda, you'll notice the day to day challenges of the residents but you'll mostly be inspired by them. This is a place where people understand exactly what it means to live in community regardless of your religious beliefs or ethnicity.

Peuls are often shepherds. They are responsible for the well-being of the flock of cows, sheep or goats. They move from one location to another to find great grasslands. Cow milk will often be a source of income. You will easily find young shepherds selling milk on busy roads. The milk is also consumed daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The milk can be mixed with a variety of local cereals.
